A Birthday Mystery

June 27, 2016

It’s Joe’s birthday, and all he wanted was an offer on the house. He’s said it incessantly, which didn’t do the kids much good in their hunt for a birthday present. Still, he got what he wanted!

We have accepted an offer on our house!

*Cue heavy sighs and thankful prayers!*

The first offer actually came on the 25th, but the buyers were asking for $13,000 in closing costs. No way. So there was some back and forth - there always is with home buying or selling. And even though we didn’t get the crazy, bidding war that we fantasized about (sarcastic thanks to HGTV), we got what we wanted.

Our house is officially PENDING.

PENDING means awaiting decision or settlement OR until something happens or takes place. It's still a mystery if all this will happen.  The sale of our house depends now on details like the results of our home inspection or all the financing going through or no one getting cold feet. It’s a promise assuming that nothing goes wrong. BUT, if all goes well, we have to move out at the end of July.

*Cue freaking out again*

THE END OF JULY!

We have to clean up and pack up eleven years of living in this house, say good-bye, and find another house to move into (assuming all goes well with that PENDING transaction) and move into it in less than a month! AHHHH!

Since Joe’s birthday wishes are so potent, he should’ve tacked on an easy move into a new house to his wish of selling ours.

Just kidding. Good things have happened as the result of prayer, and we pray they’ll continue.

Tomorrow, we’re heading back to NC for House Hunt Part Two!
